Tropi-mulch Ltd won the NGC Green Company sponsored award as the Green Entrepreneur of the year at the third annual NEDCO awards, held earlier in August.
The title of the awards was ‘Exploring Horizons’ and was held to commemorate NEDCO’s 22nd anniversary.
NGC Green President Toni Sirju-Ramnarine handed out the Green Entrepreneur award to Tropi-mulch’s Lionel Seucharan. The category encompasses small and micro enterprises that operate in the Renewable Energy, Waste Management, Recycling and Green Economy space. Tropi-mulch, based in Tabaquite, creates mulch from food waste and discarded sawmilling lumber. The mulch is widely used in gardening and landscaping.
This year NEDCO introduced a special recognition Award for Diaspora Creative Excellence, which was presented to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Actress, Dominique Thorne by the Honourable Foster Cummings – Minister of Youth Development and National Service.
